My name is Amelia Sorensen, and I was born and raised in the theater rich town of Ashland, Oregon. I started taking improv classes during the summer when I was seven years old, and my love for acting quickly grew to a year-round affair. I've now been acting for 13 years, starting with improv and comedy, and moving into musicals and more dramatic roles as I grew older.
I moved to New York city in 2018, and continue to train and hone my skills as an actress and a singer, working with industry professionals with backgrounds in film, television, and Broadway. 13 years of acting experience and five years of professional vocal lessons keep pushing me to become a more dedicated performer.
I grew up surrounded by the industry. My parents were both in the movie and commercial world, so my childhood was always influenced by great performances and well-made movies. I knew very early on that creating and performing was something I was called to do.
Why I Perform
I'm so excited to get to do the work that I love on a day to day basis. Whether it's auditions, rehearsal, shoots, editing, or just reading scripts and practicing lines, I'm in love with every part.
Moving my career forward has been a challenge, to be sure. But I love the work, and I'm committed to my passion. Digging into yourself to find the honesty in projects is unbelievably rewarding.
